Getting Started
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
If the way you’re thinking, feeling, or responding is getting in the way of the life you want — therapy is worth exploring. You don’t need to be in crisis to start. Many of our clients come to us functioning well on the outside but feeling exhausted, stuck, or like something is just off. That’s enough of a reason.
What happens in the free consultation?
It’s a relaxed 20-minute conversation — no pressure, no commitment. We’ll ask about what’s bringing you in, what you’re hoping for, and answer any questions you have about our approach, fees, and availability. By the end you’ll have a clear sense of whether we’re the right fit.
How do I get started?
The first step is booking a free 20-minute consultation through our Calendly link. Pick a time that works for you and we’ll take it from there. No forms to fill out beforehand — just show up.
How long does it take to see results?
It depends on what you’re working on and how deep the work goes. Some clients notice meaningful shifts in 6–8 sessions. Others work with us longer because the healing they want requires going deeper. We’ll always be honest with you about where you are and what the work looks like going forward.
Services & Logistics
Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes — we offer virtual sessions to anyone in New York State via a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. In-person sessions are available in Suffolk County, NY.
Who do you work with?
We primarily work with adult women — though we welcome anyone who resonates with our approach. Our specialties include anxiety, trauma, relationship patterns, and faith-integrated care. We work with individuals only — we don’t offer couples or family therapy.
How long are sessions?
Individual sessions are 50 minutes. The free consultation is 20 minutes.
How often will we meet?
Most clients start with weekly sessions, which allows for momentum and consistency. As you progress, we may shift to every other week. We’ll discuss what makes sense for you based on your goals.
Do you offer couples or family therapy?
We don’t — and that’s intentional. Our work is individual-focused because we believe the most lasting relational change starts inside the individual. If couples therapy is what you’re looking for, we’re happy to provide a referral.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for at least 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations or no-shows may be charged the full session fee. We understand life happens — just reach out as soon as you can and we’ll work with you.
Insurance & Fees
How much does therapy cost?
Our private pay rate is $195 per 50-minute session. We also accept select insurance plans and offer a limited number of sliding scale spots. Visit our Investment page for full details.
Do you take insurance?
Yes — we bill most insurance plans directly, including in-network and out-of-network benefits. We also provide superbills. Before your first session, we verify your benefits and let you know your exact copay — so there are no surprises. If you call your insurance directly, search for us under Linda Girimonte, LMHC, P.C.
Can I use my HSA or FSA?
Yes — therapy is an eligible expense for both Health Savings Accounts and Flexible Spending Accounts. This is a great way to make private pay more manageable.
Do you offer a sliding scale?
We reserve a limited number of sliding scale spots for clients who need financial flexibility. Mention it during your free consultation and we’ll have an honest conversation about what’s possible. Cost should never be the reason you don’t start healing.
Faith & Our Approach
Do I have to be Christian to work with you?
Not at all. All of our services are open to anyone. Faith integration is always client-led — if you don’t want it included, we simply don’t include it. You’ll receive the same high-quality, trauma-informed, evidence-based care regardless of your faith background.
What does faith-integrated therapy actually look like?
It looks different for every client. For some it means bringing Scripture into the session as a source of truth. For others it means having a therapist who understands their faith context without dismissing it. We never impose it — we follow your lead entirely. Learn more on our Faith-Integrated Counseling page.
What is the Bible + Brain approach?
Bible + Brain is the framework we’ve built our practice on — the conviction that Scripture and neuroscience point to the same truths about healing. Romans 12:2 and neuroplasticity. 2 Timothy 1:7 and nervous system regulation. Learn more on our Bible + Brain page.
What is The Beyond Healing Method™?
It’s the four-step clinical framework Linda Thompson developed — Aware, Regulate, Renew, Rewrite. It’s the structure behind our anxiety, trauma, and relationship work — healing that goes deep enough to change what gets passed to the next generation.
What modalities do you use?
Our work is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, and nervous system regulation. We integrate faith-based approaches for clients who want it. We tailor our approach to what you need, not the other way around.
Still have questions?
The best way to get them answered is in a free 20-minute consultation. No commitment — just a real conversation about where you are and what’s possible.
